Carpentry.

Carpentry is where a renovation is either quietly excellent or quietly wrong. Square walls, level floors, tight mitres and a door that still closes properly in February are not details. They are the whole job. Everything after us, from drywall to paint to cabinetry, inherits whatever we leave behind.

Because we also do the electrical, framing gets laid out with the wiring already in mind. Nobody arrives later and cuts a notch through a joist because there was nowhere else for the cable to go.

What we do

Framing & structure

Walls, floors, roofs, beams and headers. Load-bearing removals, post and beam work, and the temporary shoring that keeps a house standing while you change its mind.

Decks & outdoor structures

Decks, docks, stairs, railings, pergolas and screened porches, built for shoreline conditions and Ontario freeze-thaw: proper footings, proper fasteners, proper drainage. Composite or wood.

Trim & finish

Baseboard, casing, crown, wainscoting, coffered ceilings, mantels and feature walls. The work that decides whether a room reads as finished or nearly finished.

Doors & windows

Supply and installation, replacement units, new openings cut into existing walls, exterior doors, patio doors and the flashing details that stop callbacks two winters later.

Stairs & railings

New staircases, tread and riser replacement, refinishing, and code-compliant interior and exterior railings.

Built-ins & custom work

Bookcases, benches, mudroom lockers, window seats, closet systems and shop storage, built to the actual dimensions of your actual wall.

Repairs

Rot, sagging floors, failed decks, sistering joists, water damage and the results of somebody’s ambitious weekend. Diagnosed honestly before it is priced.
